If you feed cats more before you go to bed and keep the house a bit cold, they will only wake you in the wee hours for snuggles and because of purring loudness, rather than by knocking things off shelves and singing Willie Nelson covers.

At least, I hope this strategy keeps working.

(Still woke up suddenly at 2:22 and had trouble drifting off again, so other insomnia issues continue. I did get about six hours on, though, about twice as much as on the previous two nights.)
